Swallows Inn Bakery
Diane was born and raised in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan where she watched her grandma bake and garden as she was growing up. From a young age she was intrigued by the process and desired to learn how to do the same.
In 2009 she moved to a farm outside of Briercrest where she raises her beloved Syberian Huskies and stays busy looking after her huge garden.
Since being on the farm, she has found a fascination with collecting bird houses and watching the swallows in the nests of the trees, so it felt suiting to name her ‘farm food business’ Swallows Inn Bakery.
Diane has learned throughout the years that there are some common ingredients that all bakers share—even back to the days of watching her grandma—and they are simple to adopt, and utilize through organization, curiosity, creativity, patience and dedication.
Although she loves what she does, She finds that some days are uplifting and rewarding while other days feel long and frustrating. However, her motto is: “Like any truly great bread, great bakers are made with time, and its ALWAYS time well spent.”
