Miss Helene's
Meet another of our Sauce makers!
Born and raised in Meadow Lake, Saskatchewan, Canada, Helen Beaudry inherited a love of cooking, passion for adventure, and the entrepreneurial spirit from her family. It's that spirit of entrepreneurship and adventure, love of cooking, and tendency toward invention that has been passed down through the generations, making it possible for us to develop this brand. Generations of skills combine in the talents of Helen and her daughter Ferne, building the dream team of product invention and brand creation.

Originally Ferne and Helen were just looking to develop some new wing flavours for their restaurant. They love to cook together, and after a few hours of Ferne and Helen working like mad scientists in the kitchen, our flagship product Black Maple sauce was born. Over time, more and more flavours were developed and tested and customers began to ask if they could be bottled. We originally bottled a few here and there as promotional items to be donated for silent auction prizes. The only way to get one, was to win one. Demand soon grew and we began to bottle them for sale in the restaurant. Soon, however we were getting requests from people in Saskatoon wondering where they could buy it locally. Black Maple and Buffalo, were the first of Miss Hélène's gourmet sauces to hit the shelves in retail stores. For fun, Ferne and Helen often produce a few seasonal or limited edition items to promote at trade shows or other special events. Over time when a sauce becomes popular enough, we will add it to our regular product line.
It's not just about Ferne and Helen. Helen's husband Tony, both of their daughters, two sons-in-law, and five grandchildren have all, in some form or another, have their hand in the mix. Relatives from all corners have thrown down and helped out where they can and when they can. From helping with renovations, to throwing in when visiting and washing dishes, cooking in the kitchen, bottling and labelling, manning the trade show booth, or quality control tasting and product testing (everyone's favourite job). It is truly a family enterprise. Family... it's what it's all about.
