Carzan Land & Livestock
Meet your beef producers!
I'm Carter Bezan, and along with my kids Lincoln and Acelyn, and my girlfriend Carmen Busse, we supply hormone free, grass fed beef to the Regina and Saskatoon areas.
Our ranch is small, as I currently work shift work at Evraz Steel in Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada. We are building back up to the herd we used to have and will be breeding 100 Horned Hereford cows this year.
We raise and sell 10 Registered Hereford bulls each year to commercial cattle producers and 24 to 30 grass fed animals as freezer beef into the major centers.
As a Verified Beef Production Plus certified ranch we pride ourselves on animal welfare, proper vaccination protocols, and minimizing stress with proper animal handling techniques. This program assures that you as the consumer are getting the best product the Canadian Beef industry can offer to Canadians.
We work closely with Ducks Unlimited Canada on wildlife and wetlands conservation and as hunters ourselves, we see the diversity of wildlife that our rotational grazing and grass management techniques give our ranch.
We raise our cattle hormone free with no steroids. We do vaccinate and use antibiotics on our cattle as we feel to not do so is inhumane to our herd. When you're sick, you get medicine. Cattle should too. Our herd is on a complete herd health program and are vaccinated yearly at branding time in July.
We pride ourselves on grazing our cattle well into late December and January and are working towards year round grazing.
Our beef is grass fed, but during the coldest winter months our feeder cattle are given whole oats for more energy to keep their body condition up through the cold. We do not feed them hot ration like corn or barley but just ease them along with the whole oats.
