Bar Over 3H Honey
Meet your beekeepers!
Kelly and Julie-Anne Howe started with 4 hives in 2016 and are now up to 40. Julie-Anne's family on her Mom's side in Switzerland are beekeepers and she is happy to continue the Rickenbach tradition in Canada.
The bees are an addition to the 100 cows they run on the ranch. The bees forage on caragana, lilac & dandelions early in the year. Clover, alalfa and canola throughout the summer and an abundance of wild flowers on pasture through summer & fall.
"Bees & Beef - It's what we are all about.
On our ranch we tend to 100 Charolais cows and 40 honeybee colonies. We're committed to best practices for all our animals.
I (Julie-Anne) grew up farming and have a Master's degree in Animal Science and am a practicing Professional Agrologist. My husband also has a Bachelors degree in Agricuture. We are committed to continual improvement in science, technology and conservation innovation to produce food sustainably."
